How To Configure Status In Canada

This article is only applicable to administrators. Depending on your agency/organization, you may want to customize which Canadian Statuses you want your organization's users to use in CARMIS. This can be identified using your organizational terminology, or the funder agreements. 


Adding a new Status In Canada

Step 1: Using the top navigation menu, navigate to Admin > Masters > Client Profile / Global > Status in Canada (520).

This will open the form as shown below.

Step 2: Click Add from the toolbar to add a new status.

Step 3: Enter a name in the "Canada Status" field and set the "Active" field to "Yes".

Step 4: Once all changes have been completed, click Save. Note: Cancelling or exiting without saving will discard all changes.

Step 5: You will also need to add the status to a funder. This is important to ensure that clients of appropriate statuses are included in your iCare Bulk Uploads and other funder reports. You can navigate to the form via the provided link in the form.

Deactivating a Status In Canada

You cannot delete/remove a Status in Canada, but you can deactivate it. Please note: Deactivated statuses will not appear under any "Status in Canada" dropdowns found in CARMIS.

Step 1: Navigate to the Status in Canada form.
Step 2: Click List from the toolbar and select a status that you would like to deactivate.

Step 3: Then click on Update from the toolbar.

Click on the dropdown for "Active" field and select "No".

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Why cannot I rename a particular Status in Canada?
A: Some Statuses are system defined and cannot be renamed by organizations. You can however, deactivate the particular status and add a new one.

Q: Why can I not change the value in the "Name Change Allowed" field.
A: The "Name Change Allowed" Field is locked, which means it can't be edited. It's value will always be "No" for any default statuses that come with CARMIS, and "Yes" for any new statuses you create.

Q: Why am I not able to see this form in CARMIS?
A: This form is only applicable to administrators. If you are unable to view this form, please contact your administrator to make these changes.
